Postby plancor 792 » Wed Mar 31, 2010 8:10 pm

Over the years I have collected the following Y-1 Transmission Serial Numbers.
Y1-103A Tucker 1022
Y-1 107AXF Tucker 1023 This Tucker also had Y-1 104A installed proir to Y-1 107 AFX
Y-1 109 AF Tucker 1014
Y-1 117 ASF Tucker 1037 also have this listed as being in Tucker 1034
Y1- 118 ASF Tucker 1009
Y-1 112 ASF Tucker 1033
Y-1 115 AF Tucker 1017
Y-1 101 AG Tucker 1020
Y-1 108 AXSF Tucker 1035
Y-1 118 ASF Tucker 1010.
Y-1 100 AF Tucker 1016
Y-1 102 A Tucker 1021
Y-1 109 AS Tucker 1024
Y-1 105 A Tucker 1027
Y-1 106 AF Tucker 1028
Y-1 108 AKSF Tucker 1029
Y-1 110 ASF Tucker 1030
Y-1 114 ASF Tucker 1031
Y-1 111 ASF Tucker 1032
Y-1 112 ASF Tucker 1033
Y-1 117ASF Tucker 1034.

I have no serial numbers on the Cord transmissions that were installed in Tuckers.

Tucker 1026 has an R1- 100 transmission installed .
No idea as to the meanings of the codes following the serial numbers.

Thank you for this information. I really appreciate it.

A couple quick questions.
Is there a Y-1 109AF in #1014 and a Y-1 109AS in #1024?
Is there a Y-1 108AXSF in #1035 and a Y-1 108AKSF in #1029?
Y-1 118 ASF is on the list for both 1009 and 1010. I know #1010 had a Cord at one time.

Seems as though they may not have numbered them in order. There is no Y-1 113 or Y-1 116
unless they are in one of the cars below.

It appears you have serial numbers for all the Y-1 transmissions except the ones in the following cars:

#1013
#1018
#1019
#1036
#1039
#1040
#1045
#1049

If all of these cars had the Y-1 transmission then there should be around 29 total.

The only mistake I may have made was in reading the Serial Number on the Y-1 transmission in Tucker 1029. It is possible that it could have been AXSF not AKSF. Then we will have the same Y-1 in Tucker 1029 & 1035. Note that I have Y-1 108 AKSF in Tucker 1029. Seems they switched these transmissions around much the same as they did the engines. What a mess that leads to. No changes in other serial numbers.

Sincerely appreciate all the research you younger members are doing on the Tucker. Back when I was doing this we had the telephone, mail and personal observations to collect data. Today you have so many search engines to go to and have done a great job finding information that previously was not available. Continue the good work.
