In regard to the Tucker convertible, it is apparently made up of Tucker parts that survived initial trauma. This car made up of these Tucker parts recently survived one of the worst storms ever to hit a live auction resulting in unprecedented auto carnage flinging large poles and debris, flapping tent remnants, and heavy rain at collector cars in Scottsdale! She is a hero in my book! The beauty of the car completed with Dave Holls' drawings in mind is "drop dead" gorgeous, and the people love it. It has rekindled a love for the Tucker automobile and has caused me for one to want to join and contribute to this wonderful club. Let me be clear that I like my cars stock; but I am reminded of how the people accepted the "T bucket" sportster made from the Ford model "T", the George Barris creation made from the 1953 Motorama Cadillac LeMans show car number one, and the George Barris creation Batmobile made from the 1955 Lincoln Futura show car. This Tucker convertible does not threaten the beauty and dignity of the surviving factory, completed originals in my mind; if anything it underscores and supports the collectibility of and the need to preserve the original, beautiful, ageless and timeless four door non-convertible designs!
