Old Cars Article on the Convertible

There's another Old Cars article on the 'vert. http://www.oldcarsweekly.com/article/Tu ... e_Auction/

I found this part of the article rather "interesting":

Not long after starting work on the Tucker, Cole launched a Web site, http://www.tuckerconvertible.com, to help him fight the P.R. battle. On the site, Benchmark has posted photos of the car during the build and made public much of the evidence that Cole insists back the claims that the car was a factory project. For all his efforts, Cole knew that he would never convince everybody of the car’s pedigree, however. Front and center in non-believer camp are a group of vocal doubters with ties to the Tucker Club of America (http://www.tuckerclub.org)

By using "ties," the author gives the implication that it is not the official stance of the club that there's no evidence proving the provenance of the 'vert.

The latest video posted on the convertible site, Justin STILL perports that it was in fact started and engineered at the Tucker plant! I guess if you tell the same lie long enough, you begin to believe it to be true yourself. The part in the video that I chuckled at, was that he points out the odometer (and the entire car) have only 8/10 of a mile on them!!! Hmmm. Reminiscent of the Chryslers in the '80's that were driven (some up to 500 miles)with the odometers disconnected and then sold as new!

They are going to publish the club's statement alongside that article in the newspaper. At least, that's what we were told.
