The affidavit from Mr. Blank Name about seeing the convertible at a machine shop in the spring of 1972 on
Blue Mound Road in Milwaukee is in direct conflict with Allan's statement that the car was in Chicago until
1981 or 1982 unless the first Lencki employee had the car in Milwaukee and sold it to the person in the
6400 block of South Halsted. The problem with trying to verify this is like everything else, there are very
little facts to go on. Blue Mound Road is over 20 miles long and there are several machine shops on it. Who
knows what was there in 1972. If they were going to use an affidavit as proof of something, why not get just
a little more information. If this person was so sure they saw the "convertible", a sedan, and blueprints, they
must have some idea of where they were on a 20 mile long road. There was a Chevy dealer next door, a
cemetary across the street, a McDonalds on the corner. Anyone so sure they were on Blue Mound Road should
have some idea where. Maybe they don't know about Google Earth.

Is there a sedan that could have been in Milwaukee in 1972? ....Richard, John, Anyone?

The banker that notorized the affidavit for Mr. Blank Name works about a mile from Benchmark in Madison.
That makes it likely that Justin had something to do with it's content as it would be a HUGE coincidence that
the person making the statement just happened to use a notory just a mile down the street from Benchmark.

Nothing I can think of but that car did not come from the area unless it was 1042 he also had at one time and was stripped to the frame out there. The red frame he sold as 1018 to Esch. After looking at many photos I have I have more on 1042 photos taken at his house along with 1018, 1055 and 1043. Also photos where he had tons of parts in a storage. He had the 1018 front section with the coul, 1042 frame and 1055 frame at one time along with front and back of the 1055 and many panels fron 1018 which he used on the 1052 car he also had. Then he had the 1027 frame with coul and all the fenders along with some doors and other parts so that is many parts cars and parts. The 1027 car he got it from someone out there in the east coast so I hope to find the past owner before Al and that will get things more clear here. There is one car that I don't know how he got which is 1043. Then there is the 1027 car he got at one time and he forgoten about having it. I will try again Monday to get this information about the owner before Al.

It is all a made up story as I know and once again, "Where is the 1027 car he had at one time?" I believe also Richard Jones may have this information on who used to own 1027 before him. That will help a lot.

Also yes, it was the front half of 1018 which looks nothing llike the red frame which is complete but have very heavy rust from 1042

that is 1052 at Gilliland (one of Als friends) before Al got it and sold it with all the panels from 1018

Does anyone have access to an R.L. Polk reverse directory for Chicago from 1980 or 1981? That would give us the information on who might have lived in the 6400 block of South Halsted. Up until the mid-60s, it was mostly retail shops with what were probably small apartments upstairs. There does not appear to have been any homes. I found a reverse directory from before WW II but that is not much help. It only shows a handful of people living there but almost 50 small retail businesses operating between 64th and 65th on South Halsted in Chicago. In the mid-60s the retail shops were torn down to build a shopping center which quickly failed. It's doubtful that anyone lived at the shopping center in the 6400 block of South Halsted, other than homeless people, but if we could find a reverse directory from 1980 or 1981 we could give Reinert the benefit of the doubt and check out his story.

We've got a bit of a puzzle here. I asked about this on another board, and there happens to be someone from a title company in the area, and they were kind enough to check on things and this is what they said:

Well that wasn't too hard. The entire 6400 block of Halsted contains Kennedy-King Collage and a stop for the Metra Green Line, both of which would have been there at your time frame.

When I asked if they were sure that was right, they replied with:

"KKC was founded as Woodrow Wilson Junior College in 1935 and operated by the city until 1966, when it became part of a State of Illinois community college system. The school was renamed in honor of Robert F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King, Jr. in July 1969, a year after they were assassinated."

A search of my companies database shows that it's been that as long as our online records go back, which is 1976.

So, something's amiss, somewhere.

They are wrong on the timeline. Kennedy-King opened at the Halsted site in Sept of 2007.
Previous to that they were at a different location on Wentworth Ave. about a mile
and a half away. The old building on Wentworth is still there. Here are just two of the

If you read my previous posts, all the information was taken from Chicago based websites.
The current college site is the second of two urban renewal projects for the area. It's
not hard to research what has gone on at this site. It's only hard to find someone that
might have owned a Tucker there in 1981.

They could not have checked very much because the internet is loaded with information
about this area. Google gave me 56,000 hits for 63rd and Halsted alone.

The Kennedy-King College site was an urban renewal project that took out about 20 square blocks of the
south side of Chicago, including the entire 6400 block of South Halsted, and was in the Chicago news quite
often over a 5 year period as in typical Chicago fashion it was full of cost over-runs and missing money.

There appeared to be a Tucker cowl at Gillilands. Any ideas what happens to it and what it was?

That was all from 1055. Some of the photos are of the same parts at Als home. I have many more photos on this. Esch also had this parts at one time when he bought the one and only 1055 convertible from Al.

You'd think if I can find the actual tree that split #1018 in two in August of 1948, I could find
some evidence that the "convertible" is real. Anyway, here is the tree.

Reinert acquired the Tucker from George Spiegel. Spiegel wanted $10,000.00 in small bills and Reinert brought him a brown paper bag with the money inside it. He said he put in on the seat of his pickup truck. While they were busy loading the Tucker. George told me that Reinert's female companion walked around the property. Shortly after they left he went to his pickup truck to get the bag of money and it was gone. He did not report it to the police. I corresponded with George Spiegel for several years. he sent me the suspension units from 1043 and I had them re-rubbered for him. A fellow named Maywood was the former owner of 1043 and at the factory auction it was sold to a Fred Paris.
I have no owner information on 1027.
