Interesting, about 6 months ago there was an article in the paper saying that the car was done and was being delivered to it's new owners. I wonder what happened?

Very cool. To bad the video was streamed and I couldn't download it so I could view it better.

Why does the Smithsonian need a Tucker? They already own one, and it's on display at the Blackhawk Museum because the Museum of American History never gave much room over to the automobile. Or at least it hasn't the few times I've visited.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for donating cars to museums, but this makes as much sense as giving a Model T to the Henry Ford.

FYI, TACA has checked with the Smithsonian and no one there seems to be aware of the car's arrival.

number 3 tucker the real story.

Postby 606chop » Fri May 18, 2007 12:20 am

First of all im new to this web site, becouse at first i was try to find out how much tucker parts where going for but didn't have much luck. and i saw your post about the number three car. I was part of the "new crew" at classic muscle that had to fix the car before the own could have it shipped. you see the owner like to run employees off when friday's came around. this way he could just get new people in ,work them for two weeks and then run them off with out having to pay for anyone 's laber.why im i tell you this becouse every moron that has ever picked up a hammer and called them self's a body tech worked on the car. the poor workmenship of the car set things back months. nothing was right .it took awhile just to fix the doors . We call what they did cave and pave in the bodywork busi so you can only imagine what it looked like. A guy came in a week before it left that had restored a couple of these car , he was there to look at the shift linkage "no back up" gear and stated that this was the worst redo fo a tucker he had seen. I'm sorry to bring such bad news to this club but it had to be said. all's not lost i did manage to save some parts after the company went under.[/b][/i]

Restoration of 1003

Postby ehartman13 » Fri May 18, 2007 7:29 am

This is not the first time someone has given a first hand account about the restoration of this car at shop "Cla*sic Mus*le", and the way in which you are describing what went on with it backs up the other claims. The other posts are no longer on the site because of it turning into a slander case against the shop where this was restored and this message board. Please keep this discussion open and just state what went on with the restoration, :!: and please do not slam the shop that did it or we will lose this discussion like the past ones :( (and rightfully so, we do not need the board shut down due to a lawsuit). So any information, photos, other items about the RESTORATION is greatly welcome. Just leave the shop out of it.

But it is VERY interesting that your claims (you need to use Spell Check) sound quite the same as the earlier ones, and that is a shame. This car deserved better. :(
