I saw this car today. It was a complete shock to me when I walked in the museum. I had no idea they had a Tucker and have seen the movie several times. It was neat to see one in person.

A couple of questions. What's the deal with the green shade on the front of the car and the lighted sign bolted to the back bumper? Were these factory options? I was shocked to see that someone would bolt this stuff on to such a rare car and would think it significantly reduces the value to a collector. It also has a AAA sticker on the rear bumper which seemed goofy.

Looks like this car is driven by someone.

Francis "Fuzzy" Fruzyna purchased the car in the mid 1990's after having won the Wisconsin state lottery. Fuzzy wuz a great guy and a huge supporter of TACA. To say he had eclectic taste was an understatement.

There was much talk about the accessorization Fuzzy did to 1048 but the bottom line is this - it's his car. At least that's the stance TACA always took. It's not like he cut it in half or gutted it.

Fuzzy passed away a few years ago and a friend of his took possession of the car. He has decided to keep the car as-is so as to pay respect to the car that Fuzzy loved so much.

Great News! The Tucker #1048 is still in Hartford, WI at the Wisconsin Auto Museum. I saw it yesterday 4/19/09 and it is beautiful. It was to be moved in the spring of 2007, I don't know how long it will be in Hartford, but don't pass it up, it's worth the trip alone, and the rest of the museum is great! :D .
