Question about car #1033 in Maine

Postby P.J. » Thu Jun 29, 2006 3:01 am

Hi everyone

I was watching the local Sunday night news on Fox a few weeks ago and noticed something interesting, there was a story about an antique car collection belonging to a man in Maine.

I knew there was a Tucker in Maine so I watched the segment very closely and was disappointed until the last 5 seconds when the camera showed a red diecast Tucker in close up, the camera then zoomed out and the diecast was shown to be sitting on the passenger side cowl pad of a real red Tucker which according to the main site should be car #1033.

After the piece ended the news anchor said the only chance to see the collection of cars displayed to the public would be on July 15 in South Paris Maine. I think the pics of 1033 on the main site were taken at a previous showing of the car but I'm not 100% on that. I've never seen a Tucker in person and Maine is pretty close to home in comparison to where some of the other Tuckers are but I have no information on the show other than the date and city, I was hoping someone here might have some info.

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer. :D

Hi I went last year and this year 1033 is in real good condition and is having its original suspention design built and instaled so it will ride like Preston wanted it to. The owner owns the NH Loudon speedway (NASCAR) and he does open his private collection only once a year on founders day in Paris hill Maine. look back at Maineman post and one has alink to picture I took there last year. The house was Hanabil Hamblins ( Abe Lincolns vice president)

#1033 in Maine

Did you get to the show this year? I did and #1033 is just gorgeous! I took a lot of pictures. I can post them if anyone would like to see them. They said they were getting ready to road test the car again. They had done work on the suspension and rear end and were doing the settling test before road testing her.

For me, it was a great moment because the last time I was able to take my son to see a Tucker (#1024) he was only 2 and wouldn't remember it. Now he's 12 and certainly will. It was wonderful to be get pictures of my kids with a Tucker to put with the pics of of my mom and aunt sitting on the one my grandpa used to drive home.

Been a while since I was here :)

I didn't get to the 07 show but I'm really going to try this year the problem is I don't have any info on the show itself and from where I am to Maine is kinda far with the current price of gas so I'd hate to just take a shot in the dark without knowing what I was getting into, I'd love to see any pics you have taken MrsBeck and if anyone has any info on the show, like date time and address and such I'd really appreciate it :D
