Tucker @ Coppola's Winery in Napa, CA

Postby GUEST » Tue Nov 29, 2005 12:16 am

Hi,

I've been in Napa last weekend and visited the Centennial Museum @ Coppola's' Winery.

I was shocked when I saw a Tucker there.

Is it a real Tucker or one of the replicas built for the movie?????

Thank you,

Sylvio.

Thanks Tuckercar.

I guess this car is not working, cause it's placed on the second floor and I haven't seen any ramp or equipment able to bring it down for a ride.

Do you have any information on that?

I really don't know the details - I'm sure someone on this board can tell you more about it. However there are several cars that are somewhat neglected. 1016 at the Henry Ford Museum is a piece of trash and hasn't moved since at least 1988.

Concerning Coppola's Tucker

Postby Larry Clark » Mon Dec 05, 2005 10:54 pm

In the six years I lived fairly near to Copolla's winery I never saw the car driven any where. I do not recall the backside of the winery building. However, many of them were built to have a ramp built along the building to get grapes up to the second floor. This may be the case for Copolla's winery as the main winery building is quite old. If so, that is your answer about the possibility of movement in and out. That said, I think the car pretty much just sits (which at least allows people to see a beautiful Tucker car). Larry

My grandmother recently visited the winery. Knowing that I am a Tucker fanatic, she asked some questions for me. They actually took her in a let her take pictures of 1014. She said everyone was very cool and willing to tell her anything she wanted to know about the car. The one on display, she said, is running, but they did not turn it on for her. She was allowed to sit in the drivers seat of 1014. I have recently had to reformat my computer, so I have to find all of my back-up disks. As soon as I find them I will send the pictures she had taken.

Tucker @ Rubicon Estate Winery in Rutherford, CA

Postby rjbell » Tue Jul 04, 2006 4:33 pm

I saw the Tucker on Monday, June 26, 2006. It is in Rutherford, not Napa. The winery is the Rubicon Estate, not Copola's Winery. A lady at the Winery was very helpful in guiding me right to the Tucker. Her name is Sharon Trieste.
