I work for the Great Lakes Region of the U.S. National Archives, located in Chicago. We're holding a film series event highlighting Hollywood films that directly relate to holdings in the National Archives. On Thursday, September 20th we'll be screening Tucker: The Man and His Dream. Accompanying the screening will be an introduction by Film Professor Stephen Shafer from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Staff archivists will display historical records of the Federal Government relating to Tucker including court cases, patent drawings, Tucker promotional booklets, letters written and signed by Preston Tucker and records relating to the acquisition of Federal property for the production of Tucker automobiles.
We would love to have a Tucker car in attendance for the event. If you own a Tucker and would be interested in displaying the car during our event or if you have information about a Tucker in the Chicago area please reply to this posting. Also reply if you are interested in attending the event and would like more information.
We are located on Chicago's Southside less than a mile from the Tucker Corporation's 7401 South Cicero address.
