Tucker Employees

Postby JannyC » Tue Nov 07, 2006 12:26 pm

Hello. I recently came across a pin in my dad's old jewelry box that seems to be some type of employee identification pin. It is about 1+1/2 inch oval brass with some red paint. It says "Tucker Corporation" and has the numbers "F33 134" on it. I guess this is the employee number. Does anyone know of any way to find old employee records to look up who worked there under this pin number? It very well may have been my father, who was a machinist. If not, it must be some other relative. This would have been the Chicago plant so I'm sure that there are tons of these floating around. Thanks, JannyC

JannyC-

The short answer is no; no one has an list of employee numbers. The badges were also made in various colors which we think denoted management/security clearance levels. For example, we know that Executives and those in PT's inner circle had black badges.

There was also red, green, turquoise, yellow, and several others.

Another thought is that the smaller alphanumerics on the top were a section of the plant, and the lower was an employee number.

While there were many employees are the Tucker plant, these badges are still quite rare and generally fetch upwards of $300-$500 apiece.
