Anyone Heard The New Ford Commercial?

Postby pacman712 » Sat Apr 22, 2006 12:01 am

It starts out: who was the first auto company to put seat belts, blindspot sensors, etc, etc, into their automobiles?

Certainly not Ford as they claim. I love the way they lied on their ad, and now I can see why Ford stock is in the dumpster!

Anyone hear that new ad?

It made me sick, especially when I learned about the Tucker in the Henry Ford Museum. Maybe their advertising staff ought spend some time their?

Postby Tom » Tue May 23, 2006 7:33 am

Lies lies all lies I tell ya. Dodge said they had the first mini van wrong VW did Toyota said they had the first 3 door truck wrong again VW did the van hit the market in 48 the 3 door truck hit the market in 52 ford also copied a VW design of the compartment under the bed in the 70's some 20 years after VW. All car companies lie today oh and Toyota saying they have the first car with a turning headlight come on the own a Tucker.

Like Tom said, nothing really new...GM's GMC divison with that failed Envoy with the Sliding Top...Studebaker had it in the 60s, possibly 50s.
Jeep having the first SUV? Nope, the Chevy Suburban has been in continuous production since 1935! (Although, that seems more media propogated then Jeep itself, and we own a Jeep!)

If I thought about this for more then, like, 3 seconds, I'm sure I could come up with more :)

Wow, I remember when Subaru brought out their Outback wagon and claimed to be the first 4 wheel drive sport utility wagon. I just gazed at my AMC Eagle outside and chuckled. AMC also had designs for a minivan in the early seventies but never produced it.
