I've Been told that my father, George H. Simons, Did some of the engine work for Preston Tucker's "Torpedo". I assume the work was done in Ypsilanti MI. But I don't know exactly what it was he helped with.
Does any one have any information?

Your father

Steve: If you have good information that your father was doing work on the engine in Ypsilanti then I would guess that he was probably helping Preston Tucker, JR. and Eddie Offutt, among others, in Ypsilanti in late 1947 to early 1948 as they were working to convert the Air-Cooled Motor engine. This work was critical to the Tucker '48 cars that were ultimately produced. Is this possibly the time frame that he worked for Preston Tucker?
Engine Work

Yes, this is the correct time frame. My father was an independent mechanic who owned a service station in Canton, MI. I've been told that he also did work for other organizations including Ford Motor Co. and NASA. My real interest is what it was specifically that he worked on with P.T. and the Tucker. Also, I've been told he had in his possession, at one time, one of the Tuckers. Whether it was purchased or just loaned, I don't know.
