More Dirt on Senator Homer Ferguson

I've been listening to the audiobook of The Family: The Secret Fundamentalism at the Heart of American Power by Jeff Sharlet which is about a group of "religious" people who have connections to many people in power. I put religious in quotes because the group known as "The Family" or "The Fellowship" has the strange belief that folks like Chairman Mao, Stalin, "Papa Doc" Duvalier, etc. are somehow closer to God than the ordinary person.

In chapter 6, the author talks about one of the Family's front organizations, the International Christian Leadership which counts, according to the author, Sen. Homer Ferguson as one of its members. Guess who else "just happened" to be a member! GM President and future Eisenhower Secretary of Defense: Charles Erwin Wilson!

Wilson, it should be noted, "celebrated" being chosen as Secretary of Defense by canceling all the defense contracts which had been awarded to GM's competitors and giving the bulk of them to GM. This helped drive Packard into bankruptcy, and little was done to correct this, even though a Congressional investigation said that it was improper.
