The good thing is that many of the other cars are in amazing condition and a good wash and wax job did wonders. The Tucker was not restored when Mr. Lee was alive and was rough then so its not any better now. They have a excellent crew of people that are evaluating all the cars and they are well skilled in restoration. The goal for the car is to have it as the star of their Museum. The car will really never be driven or taken to car shows. This is a City owned project and the City owns #1035. Given that information there is no need for a full 100% restoration. It would be nice but how many of these cars do we see on display here where we never see the engine compartment or trunk anyway? I think it will come down to their deciding if spending an extra $200,000 to restore it mechanically when it will never be driven makes any sense. A partial restoration causes no harm as it is already hacked up underneath. A full restoration could always be done at some point in the future. They can do paint, chrome, an interior, and restore the dash board now and the car will look great. At least its not rusting away anymore.

I realize it's far from factory spec, and the location has to be a factor, also (no doubt the best market is in the U.S.), but it still has crazy potential.
Sometimes when hard numbers are put on paper, plans change.

Yeah, but I've got experience in restoring a Tucker, and Ricardo's hammering out one the hard way! How many of the Brazilian folks can say that? (Come on, man, throw me a bone here. Its cold and snowy, with all the women bundled up like Nanook of the North, and Brazil's nice and warm, with beaches where women go topless!)
