Land Speed Record correspondence with AAA

Postby bruce pascal » Sun Nov 21, 2010 5:32 pm

I have several correspondence with Preston Tucker and the AAAs in Washington, D.C. Dated 1948.
I also have a receipt for wheels from Kelsey Hayes. And plans for the crankshaft for the 339 engine.
I am have trouble posting so I put in the album for everyone to see on my Bruce Pascal facebook page. Sorry for the inconvenience.

I'll post them up for Bruce. They are somewhat interesting but not as exciting as they sound. These were from Dan Leabu's collection. TACA has the rest of the collection. There are no documents to show that anything ever happened with this. The Tucker Corporation did do testing later in 1948 at Indianapolis. The AAA Contest Board was dissolved in the mid 50s. AAA has been unable to say where the records went. Best guess is they were donated to a Automobile Racing Association of some kind.

No, your mom is on FB. She must be into Mercurys since her profile shows up under "Cougar." :P

I'll admit, it was constructively written. Actually I have a knock-out punch for all "Yo Mamma" jokes but it might just get me impeached as VP. Which wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing. 8)

Natalie's been "Kahned" into writing a column for Topics. She doesn't know it, but that was my suggestion - so in the end I think I get the last laugh.
