Do I see hub caps to the right of the spare tire?

Yes, they are hubcaps. No, they are not Tucker hubcaps

I tried for years back in the 60's and 70's to acquire it or to get Don Wright motivated to do some work on it but nothing was ever accomplished. Tucker 1010 had 9815 miles on it when Don purchased it for $1200.00 and it appears that the trip home was about 4 miles as the speedometer now reads 9819 miles. Previous owner was Robert Kelly of Colton, CA. He drove the car on the Bonneville Salt Flats in 1950. 3 rounds at an average speed of 131.64 MPH. This car has a special 43/10 Axle ratio. Engine is stamped 13 and it has a Y-1 transmission, Serial Number 118ASF. When towing it home the car broke loose from the tow and did end up hitting a tree.

Yes, those are hub caps in the luggage compartment but they are not Tucker. Also that spare wheel doesn't appear to be Tucker. Proper hub caps for Tucker 1010 would have slots in them the same as the other first group of 25 cars had. Did you notice the Motorola radio lying on the back floorboard? Appears to be one of those that still had Motorola on the case. Also might point out that Tucker 1023 and Tucker 1026 did not have the interior push button door openers. They used the normal handle to open the doors from the interior.

Through my archival work, my guess is that it is going to the same home that the F-85 concept Oldsmobile resides at.
The F-85 came up in research on the Harris Speedster, long story of how!
Let me know if my guess is correct guys or gals.

John, I believe the F 85 Oldsmobile went to Ron Pratt in Chandler AZ. He also purchased the big GM Autorama bus sometime back for around 3 million. Although not proven, I think he also has Tucker 1043 but he does not commucate with us.

Richard,
Good to hear from you sir!
When Colorado was mentioned Hendricks came to my mind as a legitamate guess.
He is the Discovery Channel founder , amongst many other companies, he has emmassed quite a collection in his museum in Colorado.
I do know that his museum personal have been searching for a Tucker for his collection.

Mr Pratt is quite well known for expensive automobiles, and in this case, The Motorama GM bus, crazy money huh?
I will try an email address his son gave me to see if he will verify a Tucker in Ron's collection.

If it is Colorado, I'd bet on Hendricks,But, beings it headed to Arizona, Pratt sounds like the likely candidate,

The F88 that sold 3+ years ago went to the Gateway Auto Museum. I don't know why this car has suddenly had a comeback in email forwards, but some guy mentioned it to me today at a store because I was wearing a Tucker shirt (I had just come from the Mecum Auction). The sale of the Olds was televised live on Speed Channel at the B-J Scottsdale auction so unless it's sold again since then, I don't understand the resurgence. http://www.gatewayautomuseum.com/

Tucker 1010 did not go to anyone famous. According to Martyn, it went to a guy who owns a restoration shop in Colorado.

Correct. There is NO collector involved and no one with any Tucker background.

And Ron Pratte has owned Tucker 1043 for a few years now. He bought it from Tum Durham who bought from Mark Lieberman who bought from Al Reinert.

I did not imply that the concept Oldsmobile had been sold, maybe go back and re-read what was posted.
In research, it seems that the Discovery Channel may be airing a story on the Museum in Colorado later this year or early in 2011.
A Televised story on Ralph Lauren's fabulous car's should be airing in Oct-Nov on the Discovery Channel.

All I brought forth was that the museum has been looking for a Tucker.
As noted in the post, it was a legite guess, that's all !!!!!
Resurgence>>The F-85 olds has a part in its past that is unclear, ultimatly it ties into a story about EL Cord, which we believe at this time perhaps ties back into Gordon Buerhig, Harley Earl, Harleys son racing and Ben Harris.

I hope this clears things up??

I bet he hides 1043 inside the GM Futurliner for fun.
