Tucker #1039-The Smithsonian's Tucker

I didn't know how The Smithsonian got its Tucker until I read on the Encyclopedia Smithsonian website that The Smithsonian took ownership after the car (Tucker #1039) was forfeited in a narcotics arrest in 1992 and transferred by the U.S. Marshal's Service to The Smithsonian's National Museum of American History in 1993. Each Tucker does indeed have its own unique story!

The members of TACA were really responsible for making that happen. I did a lot of research on #1039 recently
and without the members of the club the car would have been sold off. It appears a lot of the files on the case
itself were sealed but the car was seized after a huge drug bust involving a meth lab outside San Diego and a
Tucker owner in South Pasadena who was also a member of TACA!

Both #1038 and #1039 spent a little time under the watch of the Federal Marshalls.
Just another interesting Tucker fact you can amaze your friends with
