Has anyone ever been able to locate any records from Samuel L. Winternitz, the auctioneer of the plant assets in October of 1950? I know that Larry Clark
has looked at records at the court relating to the sale but I was wondering if anyone has ever seen the records of the Winternitz company directly as they
might shed some light on a few of the unanswered questions about what was sold and who bought it. It appears the Winternitz company was still around
as late as 10 years ago and family members seem to all be on the internet. Maybe old Samuel was a pack rat and kept all his records. It may be a long shot
but I figured I'd ask if anyone has ever gone down that road.

I think this is a great idea. Just think how many things yet exist that you'd never expect to exist.

Concerning the bankruptcy records, they have lost much of their order since I first got access to them some 30 years ago. Back then, rubber bands popped from stuff not having been looked at for years. Unfortunately, however, even back then the records were similar to how I was in basketball in high school: I was never good when I was good. So too for the bankruptcy records. Company records might provide some clarity- especially notes that would help clarify who bought what where the car number is not listed or is not clear and/or where the record keeper sometimes put down a personal or company name when the actual listed name for the bidder number was the opposite.
