Tin Goose Christening

Postby John K. » Thu Jul 17, 2008 9:48 pm

I've been looking at various photos of Mary Lee Tucker christening the Tin Goose in 1947, and it seems to me that there are at least two different poses involved -- one where she is to the left side of the car, and one where she is to the right side. Preston and Vera appear together in some photos, while Preston is alone in others.

Was the christening re-enacted for the camera at some point, or is there another explanation for this seeming discrepancy?

Exactly. It was reenacted for the photo opp. At least that is what I've been told.

Also, If you watch the promotional film, the portion that shows the christening is reversed, placing Mary Lee on the left side of the car... And the Tin Goose' steering wheel on the right!!
