I've been watching this one for the last week. So far I haven't found anyone that has seen one before.
Not many bidders but the reserve must be huge. This seller has several Tucker items for sale.

Yeah, I've never seen that before either. I have had it on my watch list for a week and I figured there was no mention of it on the boards because I figured everyone was secretly eyeballing it for a purchase. Really cool item. I saved the photos from it, so maybe I could have a replica built when I finally get myself a radio :D

That happens sometimes. You watch an item for several days and then someone posts it here and the price gets driven up

Is it a rule on this board that you can't post live ebay auctions? I only posted it because there have been other live auctions posted. If it is I will gladly honor it.

Besides, I suspect the reserve price alone is larger than most of our wallets.

Nope, no rule. Live auctions get posted all the time. I post them from time to time if it's for an item that
I know several club members are looking for or if it is for something that is fake and not really a Tucker item.

Personally I won't post items if a club member has told me he/she is interested in that specific listing and is
going to bid on it. I see the reserve on it has come off at $1,500 so it will soon be getting a new home. I would
guess if someone wants this item for their collection they won't care what it costs and it will sit on display next
to their Tucker, or in the case of some of us, it will sit next to where our Tucker would sit if we had one (sort of
a Les Nessman thing)

A Canadian seller, eh? Has anyone contacted them to nose around as to where (or from whom) this collection of items came? It doesn't really matter, I guess, but the radio display is unique...so I'm curious.

We think it's old Lemmo stuff. This is the same guy that was trying to sell the Tin Goose bumper several years ago for $40,000.

So remember when I was saying I thought that last ashtray was a deal at $475???

That guy (me) might know what he's talking about after all!

I figured we'd hear from you on that one. $2,225.00 for an ashtray. Someone must be a heavy smoker

That radio stand should look real nice in your collection though! $6100.99 for a Tucker Radio has to be a new high.

Someone will be making some Tucker horn buttons with their $1,600.00 mold. From what I've noticed a lot of cars
could use them unless they want to keep the original. It also makes me wonder if some of the recent sales of Tucker
horn buttons along with the button sold today were for replicas made from this mold.

The dealership banner went for $2,740.00 Does anyone have prices on previous banner sales?

$709.99 for the steering wheel and $761.99 for the horn button.

The grill went for $448.00

The license plate went for $1,136.11 I doubt that plate was ever on a car since it seems there were never more than
25 cars at the plant at the same time that were roadworthy as many early cars were sold to dealers. Still it was
definately issued to The Tucker Corporation.

I'm sure I'll be kicking myself for not bidding as I'm missing the grill, horn button, and steering wheel on my Tucker.

Still at these prices I could buy that stupid convertible for 5 million, take it apart, and sell off the pieces for a profit.

There's no denying that those were some unique items for sale. It amazes me how much still survives after so many years. I don't think there are many other car makes that have preserved their history as much as Tucker (thanks, TACA/TCA founders!), especially one that was so quickly orphaned.

I had either heard or read that the license plates went up to 98. I'll take No. 91, please, hopefully with the tape still attached as it was on the lead car in line at the courthouse (thanks, again, to LIFE):

It was one heck of a night. I was literally sitting there with a bowl of popcorn watching the auctions end one by one.

I think the license plate was right on - this guy has a stack of them and all the ones that have sold have been from him. $1,000 is about average. I am glad to see that photo with the 92 plate. That legitimizes all the plates after 50 in that they all conceivably could have been used. I have #58 I think, so that is good news to me.

The ashtray, well no one likes a gloater but I told you so. I think $2225 is a bit high for a goldie that needs replating - the maroons are more rare. But good to see the values coming back on those.

The radio display went for more than I expected but I'm not surprised. That's an awesome item for sure. I've been collecting this crap for 19 years and have never seen one for sale.

The banner - $2740 is good money but that was a very clean example. Most have sold for $500-$1000. So I think this one was a bit high but again it was nearly mint.

The other item that went for a lot last night was the early brochure (different seller). $127.50 for the brown tri-fold with the Tremulis drawing (there were two versions, one with the Tremulis and one with the Tin Goose). I always thought these were undervalued as they have generally sold for $50 or so - the same as the common 17x22 brochure.

So with these values, I've got some stuff to sell...

Who wants a Preston Tucker autograph? Original Lapel Pin? Ashtrays? Banners? License Plates?

Daddy needs a paint job for his GTO... :D

At those prices you could forget about the paint job and just buy a compete GTO.

Does the license plate in the Life photo say 1948 or 1949? Hard to tell. I've seen plates from both years.
The photo would probably been taken in 1949.

The radio display would be worth it for any Tucker owner. It also means the one Charles has just
increased in value as there is only one like it.

I'm guessing we'll see several ashtrays on e-bay soon. $2,200 seems like someone was smoking something not legal.

Wow! Some amazing prices on this stuff. Though some of this I had never seen before ... maybe the buyers hadn't either!

Cool stuff!
