While this could very well be the data plate from Tucker Serial No. 1046, I am concerned about the numbers. The style of all Tuckers I have viewed have the Style No. as 481-19 period. No numbers after that. Also all paint numbers are numbers such as 600 with no letters on that line. I have checked the data plates of probably 45 of the Tuckers manufactured and never saw the above on any of them. Good luck to the individual who has a starting bid of $5,000.00 on e-bay. If it goes for any way near that price, then I have several parts from Tucker 1023 I may want to sell.

I would like to agree with Richard. The numbers do appear much different on the EBay plate than the numbers on our #17 plate. Richard said that the style numbers that he had observed were 481-19. That is the set of numbers that are on 17. The plate on #17 continues with Body no. 1014, Paint no. 301, Trim no. 900 and Serial no. 1017. Again I am not questioning if this is the plate from 46, but the numbers certainly are much different than anything that I have observed on #17.

Thanks for posting your opinions. It is definitely real and taken off of #1046.

Just looked this up and it was taken off e-bay. What happened? Did it sell or was it removed? Would like to have seen the photos.

Just wondering, what ever happened to Walter, since he owned all this stuff associated with 1046? I use to enjoy e-mailing him with question about other cars, but everything stopped. Something must have happened, and without him I don't know if I will stay in the club.

Walter gave the car to his son and quit the club. Not too much later his son sold the car.

Maybe Walter has a fan club you can join.

I knew those things, I just wondered if he was around still. We use to talk about other orphan cars in e-mails, like the Vega for example. He sent me some nice photos of his garage one time and really liked the exchange of opinions on cars. Walter, if you read these still, contact me. ehartman13@comcast.net
