Anyone interested in getting Hot Wheels to make a Tucker?

Postby HWTucker » Tue Jul 31, 2001 9:25 am

One thing I've noticed since I first saw the film, was that of one of the popular car makers of toys in the country, Hot Wheels, they have put out all sorts of cars, but NO Tucker 1/64 scale cars! I hope people can respond to this, because I would like to form a petition to get Hot Wheels to make Tucker cars for their 1/64 collection. My big dream was to buy 51 cars, and paint them all in the classic colors of each model number! Considering that it would only take about $35-50 for 51 HW cars, I think this would be great! I always wanted to recreate that huge factory scene in the film with all the cars lined along the walls.

HW

I have two collections on my mnd all the time - my Tucker collection of memorabilia and my 600 + Hot Wheel collection. I have visited with the head designer in California (Larry Wood) and asked him to work on a Tucker. He told me he doesn't like doing 4 door cars!! But he liked the Ida Automotive concept he said. I sent him a Tucker Model as a teaser!
I am working on it!
A Hot Wheels Tucker? That would most certainly ROCK! My husband is a VERY SERIOUS Hot Wheels collector and has been looking for a Tucker to add to his collection for about 2 years now, with no luck. (We have five in our collection as it is; one by Road Champions, one we got from The Franklin Mint, two Solidos and one Micro Machines car which came out with the movie.) Hey, while we're on the subject, he also collects Johnny Lightning cars (which are made by Playing Mantis), and he's surprised they haven't made one either, since they make mostly "unusual" cars that no one else does. Maybe we sould ask THEM too what's up with that?

I hope this works out - any online petitions? COUNT US IN!
Hot Wheels

I've always wanted a HW Tucker, too. My toy car collection includes over 380 VW's and only TWO Tuckers! Hot Wheels doesn't make a Checker cab either. I say we write (not just email) to all the 1/64 companies with our requests.
The Model Car Hub has a request page that periodically gets sent to manufacturers, but it may be mainly for plastic model kits.

Mini Tucker

Postby 1Robert » Sat Dec 14, 2002 2:28 am

Last year on e-bay I was out bid on a micro machine Tucker. It was the only one of these I have seen. I started my Tucker collection with the 1:18 scale cars, which aren't to pricey for most. I would be happy to throw my hat into the ring for a Hot Wheels Tucker. I did read the earlier post that one was made at one time. Should I hear back (I will write a regular letter), I will share what the response is.
I would buy several!

Postby CarCrusin24 » Mon May 19, 2003 5:45 am

I have been a HUGE Tucker fan all of my life! I would definately buy several Hot Wheels versions of the car. They would definately make great stocking stuffers at Christmas. Everyone would know who they came from (at least in MY family). haha
