TUCKER FRAME

Postby NailheadRocketdriver » Sun Jul 22, 2007 11:22 pm

There are blueprints available from TACA. I believe the whole car fit these dimensions, 219'' long, 78'' wide and 60'' inches tall from road to roof. the track of the Tucker was 64". To get a rough idea of how wide the center perimeter of the bare chassis was, the side girders extended out to about 1/2 of each mounted tire's width. I am not sure how wide the forward and rear extensions were. the front was narrow because it contained the A frames and steering box, and had to allow for the front wheels to turn decently enough. The rear frame extension was wider, because nothing had to steer back there so it held in place the engine, rear suspension and transaxle. My advice is to see if anyone who owns a real Tucker if they'd be nice enough and go under their car with a tape measure and take down some dimensions for ya. Getting frame dimensions from the new Tucker car would probably help too, because I bet the Ida version is pretty close to the original. Maybe there's CAD dimensions out there somewhere from that. Contact Ida through email and see what they say.
