TUCKER GOES TO WASHINGTON, DC

Mark your calendar for the 2007 Tucker Club of America Convention which will be held on June 21 – 24, 2007 in the Washington DC area. Please note—even if you are NOT yet a member of TACA, you can still attend this exciting annual event! Check the club’s website in the weeks ahead for registration information.

Host hotel is the Holiday Inn, Washington Dulles at 1000 Sully Road, Dulles, VA 20166. We’ve received a special convention room rate of $ 89.00 / night plus state and local taxes. When you make your reservations, please remember to indicate that you’re with the Tucker Automobile Club to receive this discounted rate and call by June 1st, 2007. I think we usually send them out in the April or May issue of Topics, so I'll get them posted shortly before that. I haven't seen any drafts of the forms yet.

Any idea of what events will be taking place on each day? The reason I ask is that I already have plans to be in the Carlisle/Hershey/Lancaster PA areas from June 23-25... I could drive to Washington, DC for either the 21st or 22nd to attend the Tucker Convention, then drive up to Carlisle on Saturday morning. However, if the Tucker events don't start until Saturday, then it doesn't make sense for me to go that way (me, the wife and two boys just spent 3 days in DC last week touring all of the historical spots, so I'd only be going for the Tucker stuff).

What is happening at Carlisle that weekend? I love the car show/sales there. We have bought half a dozen cars over the years at the Spring Carlisle and was wondering if anything was going on then. Planned to go up on Sunday morning if a show was running. Let me know.
