48 TUCKER ON BACK OF "CRY BABY" DVD

Postby TUCKER » Sun Feb 18, 2007 11:26 am

DO ANYONE KNOW WHY THERE IS A TUCKER ON THE BACK COVER OF THE "CRY BABY" DVD BOX? IT NEVER CAME OUT ON THE MOVIE! IT LOOKS BLACK PRIMERED WITH FLAMES AND THE PEOPLE WHO ARE ON THE MOVIE ARE STANDING ON THE FRONT OF THE CAR. IT IS A TUCKER AND I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW MORE ABOUT THAT CAR BEING THERE FOR THE PHOTO. CAN SOMEONE TELL ME MORE ABOUT THIS?

Wow, you're right. I've never seen that before. I'll have to rent the move and see what it's about!

Tuckers in Baltimore?

Postby Tuckeroo » Wed Feb 28, 2007 3:44 pm

Weird! That's two Tucker/Baltimore postings within a few days (the other being about the historic Senator Theatre). "Cry Baby" is set in Baltimore (as are all John Waters films - many of which, coincidentally have been featured at the Senator and the Senator, in turn, has been featured in some of the films), I've seen it, though I don't remember a Tucker being in the actual film. And I think I certainly would have! Perhaps ye olde photo shoppe has been at work? It's still worth checking out, though. I did background work in a John Waters film a few years ago and got to chat with him. If that opportunity comes along again I may have to ask him about this.

COULD IT BE ONE OF THE REPLYCARS MADE FOR THE TUCKER MOVIE PAINTED AS A HOTROD BY SOMEONE WHO GOT IT AFTER THE MOVIE WAS MADE. ALSO ONE OF TUCKERS MADE FOR THE MOVIE SOLD ON A USED CAR MAGAZINE HERE IN LOS ANGELES FOR $50 ON LATE 1998. AL THE CARS FOR THE MOVIE ARE STILL AROUND OR AT LEAST MOST AS I KNOW.

$50 for a replicar? Seems kind of far fetched. How many of those have actually survived the years?

Made a mistake there, it was $50,000.

Do you have any pictures of your replica?... Are you working on it?
Are there images of it on your site?
