JUST ABOUT PRESTON TUCKER

Postby Johnfromoz » Tue Jul 03, 2001 1:33 am

Having seen all the messages posted, I was dissapointed. It appears that no one wishes to discuss the man, only his product.
It's happened before......Ghandi, Abraham Lincoln, Jesus Christ....yadda, yadda, yadda.

Let me know people.......why was Preston Tucker so extrodinary?

Not just his car.......or his turret.....or his extremely fast field vehicle.

Tell me why you think Preston Tucker was special.
just about Preston Tucker

Sir,

You came up the right alley with this one! OK, here's one person's answer - Preston Tucker was, like everyone else, many things to many people. However, UNLIKE everyone else, he did many things for many people - he was selfless, deeply devoted to home, family and his employees (yes, that IS true!), a highly personable man, a man who was unafraid of taking chances, as well as a very generous man. Most importantly, Preston was, without a doubt, a forward-thinking, VERY futuristic thinker - as well as a nonconfirmist when it came to what "traditional" automotive ideas were at that time.

'Nuff said. Any questions?

The Man

Postby Aussie Rosco » Fri Jul 06, 2001 9:44 pm

I think this man is right up there with Henry Ford.
Every time I watch the Tucker movie I bounce of the walls for days.
The man just did it, and the more they tried to stop him the harder he worked.
His only crime was that he built a car in the wrong city that was just too good.
I hate to use, " He has made a difference to my life, " but I now work harder towards
my goals thanks to Mr. Tucker.....
Tucker the man....

Postby Robert » Sun Oct 13, 2002 7:58 am

Tucker cared for his family, his employees, and his fellow citizens. He even did stints as a police officer serving the public. He liked animals, and would take animals in sometimes when he did a trade. The man had desire to do something, and desire is what sometimes sets others apart from the rest.
Respectfully,
Preston Tucker

Here is why I like Mr Tucker. In this world we have 2 kinds of people, dreamers and doers. the doers are a rare bread. Mr Tucker was one of the few that took his dream and worked his hardest to make it happen. I think anyone who does that is definatly worth recignition.

garage and house

Postby jnbgoch99 » Thu Jun 05, 2003 2:21 am

The house is still standing. The garage burned down about 1.5-2 years ago. The house is on Park St. in Ypsilanti.
If you HAVE to have Preston Tucker explained to you, then you just dont get it. Try READING "The Indomitable Tin Goose", it will give you an opinion of you own. Every one who knows the story of Preston Tucker, loves the man for different reasons. Look for one you can relate to. It make it easy to understand the love for the man, not just the car.
