Tucker Jeep Connection

I got an interesting email a little while back from the President of the American Bantam car club. It seems they turned up some documents which showed that not only was Bantam working on a prototype of the Jeep long before anyone else thought they were (originally it was thought that they started in 1940), now it turns out that in 1938 they had a rough prototype running around which was built with the help of one Harry A. Miller. For those of you keeping score, Harry Miller was Preston Tucker's mentor. I always wondered why Tucker's combat car looked so similar in design to the Jeeep, now I think I know. Miller obviously must have passed the information on to Tucker, who came up with his combat car (and he being Tucker, had to make improvements on the design) using that information.
