What obstacles did Tucker First have to overcome in trying to enter the automobile industry?

Obstacles

Preston Tucker's obstacles included, but were not limited to the compitition from the other auto manufacturers using their ties to Washington to put pressure on the corporation. The sale of Tucker stock was barred in Michigan (no surprise) and California, which caused a short fall of just about $5,000,000 in the stock issue. Enought modeling clay for scale models was not attainable. The ongoing investigation by the SEC slowed things down. These were a few obstacles he had.
Preston Tuckers address was 110 North Park St in Ypslanti, Michigan. I am not sure if it is open to the general public but you can probably comtact the museum in Ypslanti.

The former Tucker home in Ypsilanti Michigan is privately owned and not open to the public. The shop building burned to the ground last year.
You can visist the Ypsilanti Automotive Heritage Museum in Ypsi's Depot Town. They have a Tucker replicar built for the movie. Also check out the memorial drinking fountain in honor of Preston Tucker across the street.

The Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn has a Tucker on display as does the Gilmore Car Museum near Kalamazoo MI
Wasn't there a shortage of steel at that time as well, due to the war?
