I was wondering if the gauge cluster the speedo etc was from another car it seems I saw one sitting in a box at a shop that looked like it but not sure also were the rims from a different car too? A lot of rims look like the tucker ones but dont know for sure thanks in advance.

The gauge cluster is a Stewart Warner design and was probably used on other cars of the era. The taillights are '41 Dodge's, the exterior door handles are from, I think, a Ford or Hudson, the interior are Jeep. The steering wheels used are '41 Lincoln Zephyrs (used on other year Lincoln's as well). Many of the parts on the Tucker's aren't unique. The cars were pilot models and Tucker was snagging anything and everything he could find to get them out and tested so that they could go into full production before the end of the year. Many of the car's don't even have identical parts (I've seen several different kinds of window cranks used in the cars).

The photos I've seen of '41 Dodge housings look identical to those on Tuckers, but I've not seen any in person to say for sure. Phil Egan states in Design and Destiney that they were Dpdge taillights (though it's not clear if he's referring to the housings or the lenses). Richard Jones would know for sure.

The dodge housings have more of a curve that goes along the fender the tucker one is more strait.

Similar, but not the same. If they were Dodge tail lights they were heavily modified. Plus I know Tucker had its own molds for the lenses. I think Lieberman used it in the restoration of 1006.

Yup. There's no arc to the Tucker's. And the Tucker's don't have the reflector on the bottom of the rear. The 2 door Dodge's housings look closer to those of the Tucker's.

The Dodge Taillights were only used on the Tin Goose. They only used the lenses and top suport bar from the Dodge taillights on the Tin Goose.

well, in case anyone forgot there is a huge donor part to the first Tucker car, the Tin Goose. The body itself on that car was I believe to be a 1942 Olds that had undergone a major makeover.

the tail lights were from a dodge, tucker changed the lense, and the chrome housing to "point" toward the front of the car, also, the inside door "handles" were actually door buttons from the same zephers' that the steering wheels came from.
