I don't think there's a story. Just something that was added at some point. If I'm not mistaken, 1002 has some aftermarket guages as well.

You know they may have added those for safety. Most of the old cars had pretty small tailights and folks do a lot to increase their visibility. My 39 Chevy basketcase has some pretty small ones. I see a lot of folks putting LEDs and bright bulbs in them. Just a guess.

As Walter can attest, 1046 has some additional taillights too.

Well it's funny you ask because actually, Atlanta was the frontrunner. However the hotels were not willing to deal too much so it was decided to go to Nebraska.

if I Could I suggest a couple places in the future to look at.

Tupelo... home of #28. has a nice collection in their museum, including auburns, duesenburgs, cords, etc. fairly small town, comparitively, maybe 100,000 or so.

Birmingham, AL at the Barber Motorsports park and musem.
http://www.barbermuseum.org/
While it's primarily a motorcycle musuem (largest private collection of over 900 bikes) it also has a very nice collection of lotus cars and porsches, as well as a couple of ferraris, a couple of cobras, and a 2.5 mile road course on the property. it's got a very nice setting around it too, not just in the middle of town. check out the Rentals tab on their website, they have a 60 seat theatre and a couple of banquet/reception type areas.
If you like Bikes, Birmingham is also the new home to Confederate Motors http://www.confederate.com/ a very high end motorcycle company, and one of the only, if not the only, american bike company not using harley components.
centrally located between the tuckers of Atlanta, nashville, and tupelo, and not much futher for the tallahassee car. I really think it would be a great place to consider.

Ok, So how many people attend these? how many rooms do you need? what kind of setting/location do you prefer? I have no problem with getting the ball rolling, but i can't afford to pay much in the way of expenses.
Oh and when will the next one be?

I'm hoping it's somewhere in the Northeast. I have two suggestions.

How about Carlisle? They have tons of car famous car shows there, and I would certainly attend it there (Even though it's only about three hours away, I've never been to Carlisle...the car shows they have now conflict with other things I do, but, if they didn't, I would never have seen #002! So I guess things all work out.)

I hear the Aero Warrior club is thinking of trying to put a show togther for Carlisle.

But I'd attend one anywhere from Indiana to New Jersey to Maine, if I could, like had the money or no conflicts with other things.

May I also suggest Lake George NY? They hold what is in my opinion the greatest car show in September, and the Fort William Henry grounds holds other smaller car shows too. The Tucker show would fit right in, even if every single one showed up, there would be lots more room. Every car could show up twice and still have room! The Adirondack Nationals hosts about 1500 hot rods and customs and what not.

There are tons of hotels in the area and lots of things to do with your family, include Great Escape, part of the 6 Flags chain with a new 400 room hotel on the premises.

I have thousands of pictures of the Lake George area dating back to the 70s, while I would need to do some scanning I could certainly show them off.

I would be more then willing to do whatever I could to help out, just let me know if I can! I spend on average 2 months a year in Lake George, and if I could afford it, I'd spend alot more!

You can see my albums from the Adirondack Nationals by checking out here, I have from 01-05 up and I have some early 90s ones to scan too, but havn't.

(If you look in the ACD Museaum album you will see the pictures I took of car #002 as well, on page 2 of the album!)

You can see my various Lake George Albums here:
I have two albums, totaling 163 photos, but those were all taken on the digital camera, I have not even begun to scan in the pictures we had taken before we got the Digi-cam!

One of the albums is taken in winter, I don't suggest doing the show then, but, if it's cold enough, you could hold it on the ice! Not that you'd get me to drive out there though! :) LOL

Also, Saratoga New York, where the Horse Race track is, has a Museaum that's kind of small but puts on a car show every few months. We are members of the Musueam and I know the program director and several of the other people who make that museaum tick.
It's only a half hour or so south of Lake George, too. I have photographed every car in the museaum more then once, and that can be found near the bottom of my first link I posted.
That would probably be the easiest and quickest way I could help, just a phone call to Craig and I bet something might happen. I can't make any guarentees of cource but I could try :)

Have the next meet in Portlan Maine. Bob Behre ( Loudon NH speedway & 1033 owner, soon to be one of 3 with original as designed Tucker suspentions) has an amazing colection in a museum quality facility here in southern Maine. I know his curator of the collection is reading these boards on a regular basis. If you have never been to the Maine coast your in for a treat!!(lobster) I just saw on the news the Portland maine jetport welcomed Jetblue airlines(cheap), and Bob's is just 1hr North of Portland Maine. His home is also a historic landmark being that it was the home of Abraham Lincion's Vice President Harry Hambalin. We have an auto musuem in wells 1/2 hr south, and a Stanley Steamer musuem in the former family summer home 3hr north of Portland. The Old Port is a wonderfull walking, shopping, eating area of the city.
