Two years ago my wife purchased a picture from an antique store in our community of Big Bear. A gentleman's father had died and he was selling of some of his collection. The gentleman's father was going to be a Tucker dealer and had some Tucker items. The one which my wife purchased, is a picture of Preston Tucker with a white 1935 Packard 120. On the side of the Packard is written "Packard 120 Official Pacemaker Indianapolis 500 Mile Race" Next to Preston Tucker is a man holding some race flags. There is a caption written on the photograph that reads "Preston Tucker driver of pace car, L. G. Epsteen, official starter Sahara Grotto Pageant of Speed, Indianapolis Motorspeedway, June 1936" The picture is autographed in the upper right hand corner which says "To Sparky & Frankie" "Epp". Unfortunetly I have not found any information about this race, or who Mr. Epsteen is. Anyone want to take a stab at it, or know about this race that Preston drove the pace car for?
Respectfully,
