Gee I Wonder Where VW Got This Idea?

If you pay close attention to VW's specs for the new Passat they mention that the headlights are "connected to your steering wheel." Gosh, that sounds familiar, I wonder where I might have heard of that before. . . .

Although Tucker was the first to really intergrate the Turning headlight into the car, the concept did preceed him.
Alot of the pre-war era luxury cars... Rolls, Bentley, and the 1920s packards had a steerable headlight system that sat on the front bumper, frame member or dirrectly infront of the grill and was tied into the steering through tie-rods.

The title was tongue-in-cheeck. I'm well aware that Packard had an aftermarket kit which mounted a turning headlight in the center. Interestingly enoough, Preston Tucker worked for Packard when those would have been for sale. . .
