START MANUFACTURING THE TUCKER AGAIN!

Postby THe Silver Ghost » Wed Jun 12, 2002 10:57 am

With all the independent car manufactures in exsistance today, I don't see why the Tucker Family has not approached one of them to manfacture a 60th. anniversary czar (2008),to honor Tucker. God knows we don't have to fear the Big 3 now. I bet you one of the foreign companies (Rolls Royce, Austin Healy, Volkswagen), would jump at the chance to bring the Tucker back again!
I really dont think any of the Tucker family would ever be interested in going into the auto business again . Let face it the government screwed over them so bad it isnt even funny .But I do like your idea its a shame theres not someone with the rights to use the namr that could do that

The folks over in NJ, Ida are making the Tucker (with full blessings of the Tucker family), and have done a good job of it. I was supose to do a promotional photoshoot of the car for the NudeAutoMall but Bob chickened out at the last minuit.
Making the Tucker

Postby 1Robert » Sat Nov 02, 2002 6:44 am

The replicas being made appear to be quite nice, but costly for the average automobile enthusiest. I have wondered if there were any "kit" cars made of the Tucker. Research to date (at least for me) hasn't yielded any company that is currently producing, or has produced a "kit" car Tucker 48. As far as making a mass produced Tucker.......even though the Tucker 48 (IMO) is still one awsome car......the automobile market is so saturated with different styles and types of vehicles that it may not go over very well. People's taste in style and function for a vehicle has changed in the last 50 plus years and it may not go over very well. However, like the re-vamped VW bug and Ford T-bird and the retro styled PT Cruiser.....a revamped version of the Tucker 48 may be a complete hit. Who knows? It is sure a nice thought.
Independent Car Companies?

Postby Adranus » Thu Nov 14, 2002 12:13 am

I hate to have to tell you, but there are still only a handful of independent car companies. Name one company and I can tell you who owns them. Or better yet, ... get on any big three website and look at the line of companies that they own. This, by the way, includes Rolls Royce. They were bought out a few years ago by Volkswagon. Basically it all boils down to Ford, General Motors, DaimlerChrysler, Volkswagon, Toyota, Honda, and one or two others I can't recall off hand but that's it. Everyone else comes under the umbrella of one of the aforementioned companies.
