Experimental Tucker Engine

Postby Bernie » Tue Jun 14, 2005 5:23 pm

I was at the San Diego Automotive Musume and saw the prototype engine on display . A 589-cubic-inch aluminum engine with valves actuated by hydraulic lines in order to eliminate the valve train, a source of noise and complexity.

I would love some more information on this experimental engine.

Also info on the Torgue Converter
At each end of the engine was to be a torque converter, which would supply power to the rear wheels.

When I joined the club, they sent me a photocopy of an article on the engine from the May 1957 issue of Speed Age which probably has the most detailed information you can find on the engine. It's not wholly accurate, but one works with what they've got.
