Original Tucker Body on Mercury Chassis...?

Postby Chicago-Bob » Thu Mar 17, 2005 10:05 pm

I noticed that this car sold ($58k) at a Kruse Auction in Las Vegas in 2002 (excerpt below). I'm assuming this was one of the bodies that was sold after the Tucker assets were liquidated. Was just curious if anyone had any interesting information on the car...?

The car is owned by a TACA member (and member of this message board), so I will leave it to him to discuss.

However, the car is Tucker #1046, and photos are available on the Tucker Club website.

Tucker No. 1046 with '64 Mercury Drive Line

Postby goldy46 » Sat Mar 19, 2005 3:37 pm

Hello Bob, as everyone knows I got the buy of the life time at the Kruse auction when everyone was asleep. This was not a left over body but one of the original 50. Janacek the second owner had a Mercury dealership and in 1964 he molded his steel Tucker onto a new Mercury Monterey Parklane. When I got the car it was badly deteriorated and I have done many updates on it to make it a good running driving car. This car has given me and my wife Nicki some of the best experiences of our lives since acquiring ownership. If you want to know alot of the full history on the car you can scroll down and you can read about the very interesting history this particular car has had. Before it was a Mercury the first owner in Florida had an Oldsmobile drive line in it. If you want to see this car and at least 3 more Tuckers in person you need to go to the big Tucker convention coming up in Chicago. It will be a blast. Thank you for your interest.
