Nice article. A few errors as the car was not an original Black car.

What was the original color for 1019? The wikipedia article also states it was supposedly black as well. Who is right? I cannot find a list of car number to paint color here. I must be missing something. Please inform...my curiousity in piqued. And another thing, what is with the 99 cents angle bracket holding the dash/ radio up. It also appears to be damaged in the upper right corner of the housing. Any theories. Not trying to be critical, but again..my curiousity is piqued!

Number #1019 is a paint code #500 car which is Grey. The dashboard has come loose in a pretty
common place for a Tucker. In the article Deb mentions she doesn't have the money to restore
the car properly. This might be an example of what the car needs. The original radio head would
have had dash mounted controls and a 1-2-3-4-5-M head. This head was only used in the first 25
or so cars and very few of them still have the proper head in them.

If you search the site for paint code Richard's list has been posted many times. It's been published
the Topics a few times over the years and it is in the Milestone Car and several other sources.

As for the Wikipedia article it has so many errors it is basically worthless in my opinion. I know
that a few people from our site have repaired it only to have uninformed people change it. It was
cleaned up a couple years ago but when I looked at it now I could not believe what a mess it is again.
The colors were posted incorrectly back on 12/31/09 by someone with only an IP address. If you want
information on Tuckers that article is the last place you'd want to look.

Ah, I see! I stand corrected. I agree with your opinion about wikipedia, accuracy is not one of it's strong points. I ony used it as a reference here, because there are so many inconsistancies, that one cannot take it as gospel. I think it's great she owns 1019 and has a great family history to go along with the car. The fact that it is a museum and on display for others to see and enjoy it, speaks volumes. Maybe someday it will be restored back to it's original glory, not that it doesn't look good now, but you get my drift. I feel the cars , given their rarety and provenance in history should be kept and returned to the way they left the Cicero Ave. facility, pre-production flaws and all. I understand that after the auction, the cars were not considered rare or even historically signifigant at the time, so they were repainted, reworked and just used as any other car. Just my two cents.....
