The Tucker Radio Display - Mystery solved

Postby ebres63081 » Wed Feb 16, 2011 8:46 pm

Hello everyone...

I recently bought a complete collection of dealer correspondence. This was the Tucker of Warwick RI dealer collection. In one of the letters I found details of my radio display that no one has been able to authenticate. Turns out it was made for the dealers meeting in July 48. It was meant to go into production and be sold in quantity to dealers. See attachment...

Eric- This letterr is a great find. There were two other letters sent out to distributors and dealers this day but I had not previously seen the one you have displayed. In my many hours of going through the Federal Bankruptcy records for the Tucker Corporation in Chicago I have never found any inventory or sales record of your display. Although it was assigned a stock number I do not think the company had many, if any others left in inventory at the end. In contrast, there were a number of the desk asktray cars, radios and other things so treasured today on eBay by Tucker fans.

Eric,

That is a great find. It certainly increases the value of your display by being able
to authenicate it as a genuine Tucker piece. It's always great to be able to document
Tucker items as real.

I don't suppose there was any documents like this one that mention making a car
without a roof was there?
