Did Tucker Look Into Buying the Tucker Sno-Cat Company?

These guys: http://www.sno-cat.com/index.asp

They were likely in business back then (neither website, nor the wiki page on the company http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sno-Cat are exactly clear about this, but it seems likely that EM Tucker, Sr was working on developing the machines at this time, if not putting them into production) and potentially could have enabled Preston to handle some of the logistics problems he was having.

I don't understand why there would be any connection, other than the name?

Well, there'd have been the potential of additional manufacturing facilities, distribution network, engineering talent, and having the same name.
