Here are some stills in the Tucker styling studio taken from 1948's "Tucker: The Man and the Car". The film must have been done after March 1948 since the Tucker-Campini proposal is seen in the background. The last one, I think, is the real Eddie Offutt (in the middle)...

I don't know the exact dates on which the filming of "Tucker: The Man and The Car" was done, though it was likely a compilation of footage done over time. Apparent, perhaps, given the footage of the combat car and the June 19, 1947 premiere. This footage stands out: the Indianapolis trials were conducted from September 16 - October 5, 1948. I have seen some footage that correlates with the promotional film, but would appear to have some scenes omitted and some not included. If I am correct, among the scenes not included is a shot of the assembly line with three cars bearing numbers 34, 35, and 36 on their windshields. Altogether I would say the filming/editing and completion of the promotional film had to have occurred at a time when the pressure was cooking. Pearson's infamous broadcast was June 6, 1948, and the SEC had concluded its second investigation that August.

I can't seem to copy the frames from the film as you have here, but move ahead 2 seconds to 7:44. In the middle of that shot should be Eddie Offutt (in fact you can see the hearing aid he wore by 7:58) On the left side of the frame I believe is Gene Haustein. Not sure who the gentleman on the right is.

Interesting, as sometime back I saw several pages from a script that was apparently a part of a detailed movie script. However many pages were missing including the cover so we could not determine when this script was written or if it had been made into a motion picture. It is possible that it was the film done after March 1948 and titled "Tucker: The Man and the Car".

Streamliner, would you be able to post the frame at 7:44? I should add that I don't recognize any of the gentlemen in the frame you've posted at 7:42. Plancor, did the remanants of the script seem to match-up to some degree with the promotional film that was ultimately produced?

Thanks!

Finally have been able to sign in once again. Found a few notes I took of the script. It was very detailed, and also used some very, very bad words. Gave information such as Detroit, Michigan December 28, 1945 Office of Henry Ford and Ford and someone else is talking about the Pic article on Tucker. Chicago January 11, 1946 Night at the Blakemore Hotel, Tucker, Pearson and James Tripp sitting at a table eating dinner. Another entry was December 31, 1946 Tucker holding party at his apartment. Tucker, Hanson Brown, Alex Tremulis, Abe Karatz and Jim Tripp among others there. All those in the script are actual names of employees who worked for Tucker. If I can make out my scribbling some of them in various scenes were Ray Rausch, Hal Costello, Joe Burke, Arnold Peterson, Mr. Whitloefer ? Floyd Cerf, Herbert Morley and Carl L. Schuerman.
There was one place that Doris was ask to pick up line one. Tucker also ask his Secretary Doris to set up an appointment for tomorrow. I am sure that Doris was DeDe Jordan, Tucker's Secretary.
As said earlier there were only 20 or so pages and they are not numbered or in order. Random pages . The earlies date was December 28, 1945 and as I recall most pages did not have a date.
