My name is Bill Price. Originally from the far south east side of Chicago. I am a Viet Nam vet. After my stint in the Air Force I lived 11 years in Oregon. I was on Mount Saint Helen's when she blew.I now live 20 miles from Chattanooga TN on Lake Chickamauga.
I'm retired from the music industry as a soundman and I was also an ASA certified master mechanic for 30 years.
My interest in the Tucker is because my dad William Sr worked with Joe Lencki at the Dodge plant during the war before he was picked by Dr Enrico Fermi to come work on the Manhattan Project where he and Joe worked together again. He worked at Stagg Field at the U of Chicago on the atomic pile where the first sustained reaction took place.
After the war he went back to the plant on Cicero Ave to work for Preston and again with Joe.Dad hand ground the crankshaft for the Goose.
During the hearings he did have to testify. He was subpoenaed and we went to Detroit so he could give his testimony. I was a tiny kid when we went and that is one of my earliest memories of anything to do with dad.
I didn't get to know too much about dad life since I was only 7 when he passed away from radiation induced Hogkins. Mom didn't talk much about dads work and I never pushed the issue.
If any one has any info about dad please contact me.
