I Wonder What Tucker's Body Knockers Would Make of This?

Its a series of photos, that I'm guessing were taken in Europe, showing someone building a mock up of a concept car. It looks like they started with an 80s-era Ford Thunderbird, and transformed it into a modern looking vehicle, which shows no signs of its humble origins.

Not too different from Tucker's boys hammering the Tin Goose out of an Olds, but these guys don't appear to be using metal to shape their car, but foam and bondo!

No info on the car at all, so I've no idea who did it, or what it was for.

The foam will attract moisture over the years.

I would find it more easy to make the panels out of metal and it will last longer. Very simple design and also a small car. How about making an all metal Tucker out of an old 1950 Dodge? Shure you would scratch your head for a long time thinking how to make that. More fun than foam :D .

This is not an uncommon way to "style" an automobile. More than likely after the foam was shaped, it was painted with ordinary latex house paint (so the fiberglass would not "eat" the foam). Taking a mold of this foam "plug" is relatively easy, to be used as a "control" mold to make copies. I'm not sure what this was used for, but it came out pretty nice considering what they started with. I have seen this done before with differing results. Either you end up with what these guys did or 200 Lbs of insulation!
If you didn't get dirty, then nothing was accomplished!
