In close-up shots, I believe that is correct...but would like to defer to Richard on that one. Because I believe some shots featured an LTD replica, and of course the Studebaker replica, so three cars total to make/edit the speedway scene.
I would agree with this.
You can see the bumpers are not shiny and you can even see the LTD radiator support beneath the bumper in this shot.

Yes, they did use 3 vehicles at the race track. Tucker 1005, the green plastic car and finally the Stuebaker in the roll over scene. As far as I know they used 1013 in the police chase scenes however I was not there when those scenes were shot. Did they also use one of the Fords also ? I would think they did. That was Tucker 1022 they are sitting in at the plant and in one of the scenes Jeff drives off and dang near crashed when the door to the building was not open wide enough for him to get through. Russ Brownell was able to get him stopped in time. The plastic bodied Fords were painted Maroon, Green, Gray and I believe the other one was Blue however I will have to find the photos in my albums to be positive on that.

just watched those two scenes.
Track scene: You see a real Tucker from the rear and driving off and going around the track until it goes behind the tent there Preston and Vera are talking.
From there on out you are seeing the replica until you seen an interior shot over the drivers shoulder rounding the last turn in a Real Tucker. Then you see the studi/tucker replica roll. You see the hood crest come off during the first flip and the bumper comes off at the end. Then you see the other fiberglass car that looked like it had rolled over with hood crest and bumper still attached.
Chase scene: you see Preston drive toward the door of the factory but don't see him go through. You see several close ups of Preston taunting the cops in a real Tucker. All other chase scenes other than when you see Preston up close are a replica. The last scene where he pulls up to the police station appears to be a replica. Close up of reporters, cops and Preston exiting the car are a real Tucker.
