Huh, The White Stripes Did a Song About Tucker

Postby Tuckerfan1053 » Thu Apr 24, 2008 3:53 am

If you're older than 30, you're probably not going to like the White Stripes (or even know who they are), but this page: http://americaadrift.com/?p=318 has a pretty detailed breakdown of their song, The Big Three Killed My Baby. Lest there be any doubt that the song's about Preston Tucker, the lyrics make it clear.
Why dont you take the day off and try to repair
a billion others dont seem to care
better ideas are stuck in the mud
the motors runnin’ on Tucker’s blood
don’t let them tell you the future’s electric
cause gasoline’s not measured in metric

After seeing this on Wikipedia, I made the mistake of downloading that sound out of cruiousty. Just when you thought a White Stripes song couldn't possibly get worse than Icky Thump, they come through with another wretched piece of repetitive musical vomit.

I like the White Stripes and that is a very cool song. They got a retro vibe to them, kinda a mix of the 50s and 60s, but at the same time they're a modern band. Best of all, the band only has two people in it (a brother and sister)!
