Does anyone know the complete list of colors that were offered on the Tucker '48? Is it true that Preston's wife requested a specific color "blue" to be one of those colors?

My 13 year old daughter and I recently saw #1039 at the Blackhawk. She noticed the seemingly metalflake silver paint and wondered: Is it authentic?
Yellow was not an original color of the Tucker. The yellow Tucker you see in the movie and pictures was originally black and painted yellow by the owner because he likes the color. It is the only yellow Tucker, #1040.
No. 39 was painted the metallic silver during its restoration in 1991. Its orginal color was tan, or beige, according to the former owner's sister.
There are many posts by users that desire models of the Tucker 48 in each color made.

What are the original colors of the cars before they were changed by new owners (or shown to a new dealer).
ie. What colors are listed on a sales brochure for the Tucker Torpedo?

About 1970 i was driving east on Diversey ave. in CHI. just west of Laramie ave. and i saw a car parked by Willies tire shop it caught my eye because i knew it was a Tucker so i drove around the block to stop and get a better look at it, the car was painted a two tone pink
{no fooling} and i think the top was a few shades darker than the bottom or visa versa. anyway in the early 1980s
I went to that same shop to have a set of wide whts. installed on my 51 chev. Bel Air and they had pics. taped on the front counter of that tucker. They had replaced the tires the day that i had first seen it. I am very curious if any one else had ever seen that pink Tucker or knows what ever became of it?? Wayne in MTN.HOME AR.

You probably saw #1043 that was once pink/salmon while owned by a person in Chicago. I say probably as I am surprised that "around 1970" that the car was not painted its next color (turquoise) and with its next owner in Wisconsin. It more recently was beautifully restored and sold at auction in January for $495K plus fees. The car is featured on the poster for this year's January sale in Arizona found at the auction web site,
www.rmauctions.com.

Tucker Serial Number 1043 did at one time have a pink body and white fenders. I might add that at one time Tucker Serial Number 1028 had a white body and black fenders.
