I'm doing changes around the car and put a new window frame on the back. I will take more photos as soon as I put some primer on it so it look better. I hope to have new photos soon so you all can see that there is really something being built.

Tucker: Man , you are doing a fantastic job on your Tucker---you must have years of experience in metal shaping . Are or were you a body builder before starting this project ?
On the other hand I would not be surprised to find you self taught the skills needed here because of your burning desire to own a Tucker. I say that because of the fact you are building it OUTSIDE UNDER A TREE!! Amazing & almost impossible but nonetheless true!

Yes it is true that this is really something going on under the tree. I am still working on it and hope to finish this project soon. I have been working on it but not much right now since it is too hot under the sun. I have self taught most of the skills needed. I also make my many home made tools for bending and shaping the metal! I reaaly like the Tucker car and I am making my own Tucker here. This is an all metal body like a real Tucker. I will surprise all of you soon with new photos once I feel she really looks great for a photo.

Ricardo, I am not really surprised to find you are "selftaught" doing this ---AMAZED & IMPRESSED , but not surprised---

I felt rather proud of myself for having been able to teach myself enough to scratch build HO scale steam Locos in brass, but what you have done makes my work pale in comparision! I will follow your progress with great anticipation.

Front grill from 1050 will be used on the project! The grill is in very poor condition but will be welded together again for its new home, "Tucker 1051-1/2". Also a Tucker speaker grill will go great with the original Tucker radio that will go into the car. I will make copies of the speaker grill later so I have a set of two for the car.

For some time now , (about a month) I had been thinking Ricardo could probably use some financial help to complete his car. Even tho all he has asked for are parts donations, money will also buy parts!!
I'll bet IF a donation fund was set up on the site that a good number of us, my self included , would step up with a few bucks to help. So, if the moderators could see their way clear to do that , it would be great--- how about it Boss?

Any new pictures?.. Hows the back window coming? And the back quarters... You haven't decided to make it into a convert...no... I won't go there...

The back came out great using the paterns of the original Tucker glass from 1051. I had to cut a 1950 Chevy Fleetline back window frame to size and make the side metal panels for it all out of metal which now look like the original Tucker back window. That took lots of spot welds to put it together. The back doors ar now also 80% finished and I have parking lights on it by now. I also made the inside lollipop levers for the dash which look just like the original lollipops since I copied an original part that I have.

Ricardo- Those knobs look great! I know what it takes to do what you are building! Sometimes a litle creativity (and time) is all it takes to get it just right! As Preston would have said when he saw something he liked during the design process: "That's it!" Keep it up and you will certainly have a true gem when you are finished. Not many people have what you do to even untertake such a project. I commend you!

Yes she is coming along fine but been a little slow since the hot summer sun been too hot under the tree. I also been working on other projects like a set of lollipops for Tucker 1003 and been saving money to really get working on it starting next month. I think she will be ready to see the road sometime early next year.

I recently purchased a lollipop switch from Ricardo to include in our showcase with #17. I am writing this to compliment Ricardo on the excellent quality of the reproduction. All I can say is, if he can build the rest of the Tucker with the same quality of work, he will have an excellent example of a Tucker.

I may only be speaking for myself (or not) but I am very curious how the progress is going on this coolest of the cool projects I have seen in a long time! Ricardo is very talented and I cannot wait to see and hear his creation come to life (and to maybe ride in it one day!) If there is way to unofficially make his Tucker an official "real deal", we must find a way. He needs to be rewarded for his massive effort! I build custom Hot Rods as well anything with a motor, but nothing like what he has in the works!
