Tucker semi kustomized in the 50's

Postby SuperFleye » Wed Feb 20, 2008 6:00 pm

A friend of mine told me he had read about a Tucker being semi kustomized in the fifites. He remember reading that it had hood louvers....

Does anyone know anything about this, and if yes, were there other mods done to this car??

Can it have been the silver one featured in the hot rod show post i posted yesterday??

Yes offcourse, I could imagine that, it was the one that was modified with a newer chassis and the engine in front, this one got louvers in the front for cooling! So does this mean that there never was one with louvers in the hood then?

I believe if my memory is correct Nick Jenin modified it for his daughter back in the 50's and at one time I want to say anywhere from 9 to 12 Tuckers at one time but as for it coming from the factory with louvers that is a no.

Dont know right off hand which one this car is but what about the green Tucker with the Tachometer on the dash and the extra stop light under the rear windshield and spoked rims? Just a thought dont know when all that was done but possible.

Sounds like you mean 1048, the one once owned by Gary and Sharon Vick, then by "Fuzzy" Fruzyna (sp?), then by somebody new. That's the only one I ever got to ride in, and let me tell you, that was a very special day for me! That car was (and I imagine still is) amazing to ride in.
