2008 Convention Set - June 19-22 in Ypsilanti, MI

Postby TuckerCar » Thu Oct 25, 2007 3:38 pm

I am happy to announce that we have signed a contract with the Ypsilanti Marriott at Eagle Crest and we are set for the 2008 Convention.

Mark your calendars for June 19-22, 2008 to attend the 2008 TACA Convention in Ypsilanti, MI.

This will be the first time the club has returned to Ypsi since 1997, and those of you who were fortunate enough to attend the Convention that year will have all the reason you need to go back next year. The 1997 Convention is regarded as the best convention in TACA history and attendance reached almost 170 people.

Some of you may have read the article in the Cars & Parts a few months ago that the Tucker house at 110 Park Street was recently restored. This will undoubtedly be a stop on our tour!

More details to follow and as always, we are seeking Tucker cars to attend!

Well of course you've got your hotel expenses, so figure $100/night. Regsitration for club members generally runs about $100-$150 based on what activities you sign up for (Tour, Banquet, Breakfast, Museum, etc).

We usually finalize the costs around April.

Going to the convention

What do I need to do, if anything, to secure a spot for all this event has to offer as a first time attendee?

Convention

Postby phjohnson » Fri Apr 04, 2008 3:44 pm

I'm so excited to hear about the convention in June!

I'm also excited to hear they restored the old homestead. I was sad to see the original "barn" was taken down in the back. It's too bad that wasn't restored.

My Dad, Warren Hogendyk worked for Preston in that old barn, and had many great memories there.

The old barn was burned down a few years back. Rumor is it was arson.
