Was Tucker equipped for doing its own metal stamping or did it use an outside vendor?

From what I understand they were outsourced to stamping houses in Michigan. It was probably easier for the Michigan-based companies to get steel anyway.

Really, Michigan? Do you know the names of any of the stamping plants?

I don't know them. I know the hubcaps were made by MetalCraft in Chicago, which is still in business. They make pizza pans today. I attempted to contact them several months ago when the Club was looking into reproducing hubcaps and they had no idea what I was talking about. Finally I got through to the President who had some recollection of his father working with Tucker, but unfortunately there is nothing left in the way of tooling or drawings.

I would assume the same holds true for the body stampings if the companies even still exist.

It would be nice though, to know the companies that performed the rest of the stamping for the cars. Would that info be in the archives?
