Preston Tucker: Athlete

Apparently, he's quite the soccer player! ;) http://www.hometownlife.com/apps/pbcs.d ... 1054/rss42
One reason why Redford Union varsity boys soccer coach Ed Mullins has optimism about the 2007 season is the potential of freshman center-midfielder Francis Mensah.

On Friday in the season opener at Wayne Memorial, Mensah did not disappoint. He scored one of RU's two goals in a 2-2 deadlock with the Zebras.

Also scoring for the Panthers was Preston Tucker.

Sportswriter compares Milwaukee Brewers to Preston Tucker!
This is, for these next dozen days, independent automaker Preston Tucker against General Motors.
Dang, if this keeps up, I may have to start following sports. ;)

"I Was A Teenage Zebra!"

Postby John K. » Thu Sep 20, 2007 8:41 pm

No, that's not a B-movie title! I attended the aforementioned Wayne Memorial High School in the mid-70's, and even played trombone in the WMHS Zebras Marching Band! Our school colors? Not black and white, but blue and gold! Yeah, it's crazy, but so am I at times.

I've long-since given up the trombone, in favor of the mountain dulcimer. I've had the privilege of playing dulcimer at a couple TACA events in the past.

So how does all this fit in? Well, the Wayne Memorial Zebras were referenced, so I just took the ball and ran with it, so to speak!

Funny you should mention trombone, I played that back in high school!
