Tucker in Pop Culture

Today I picked up a copy of Frank Miller's Sin City 2 A Dame To Kill For at my local Books-A-Million. Sure enough, the Tucker appears on several pages of this graphic novel (even the undercarriage is depicted accurately in one frame). If you don't mind seeing our favorite car subjected to the gritty horror that is Frank Miller's trademark (stolen, used as a getaway car, used to transport a gunshot victim, and more...all in the midst of an even grittier and graphic tale) I recommend checking it out. All of this begs the question: will a Tucker (replica, I would presume) find its way into the film version (which I think is slated for 2009 release)? If anyone hears anything, keep us posted. Until then I'll keep it on the shelf with Stephen King's Tucker Talisman-featuring novel, Needful Things.

Last I heard, there were problems with Sin City 2 and it might never get made. Miller and everyone else wants to do the film, but somebody at the studio is screwing things up. On the album Swordfish Trombones by Tom Waits there's a song called Trouble's Braids where talks about building a fire in the back of an old Tucker.

While I can't imagine life without Wikipedia, I get my Tucker info elsewhere, thank you :) (Though I have to admit the heading "Tucker in Pop Culture" is weird and serendipitous.) I posted that heading because I was trying to gather information on that and now I see Wikipedia has beat me to the job! But here's another that isn't on there: the muscical group Blue Sky 5 has an albumn called "The Tin Goose Jump" and has the Tin Goose photgraphed on both the front and back of the albumn cover.

Yeah, they sent me a CD a couple years ago and wanted to play at the Chicago convention. They sound good, but I thought they were looking for a gig to get their name out. Apparently they were looking for TACA to pay them, fly them to Chicago, and put them up in a hotel.

I guess the Not-For-Profit designation didn't clue in their agent that we don't have money coming out of our butts to hire swanky bands.

They could sell their CD in the Tucker store here and donate a
portion to the site or give a discount to members.
I listened to the sample on their site pretty good sound.... would
have fit in nicely in the movie.
